Colt Ar-15 A2 Gov T Carbine Serial Numbers
Latest post was yesterday, so it's not very old. Does it help? If they wrote it yesterday, it would be out of date already.
The gun is brand new and wrapped inside a green label box. The serial number on the green label matches the gun serial number. The green label has: Colt AR-15 A2 Gov't Car. Model R6520.223 Rem. Code national du batiment quebec pdf writer. Struwalker viewer. (5.56 mm) Any idea on current value?? Thx, hunter21. AR 15 serial numbers Discussion in 'AR 15 Forum' started by jalrio, Jan 8, 2010. One can only hope SIG follows suit! Could someone direct me to a listing of Colt Colt - Colts Manufacturing P.O. Colt A 2 Gov't Carbine Production Date - posted in General AR 15 Discussion: I just picked up a Colt A 2.
The AR industry LOVES to do something new every day of the week. I saw that thread yesterday and read it a couple of times. But what's not clear to me is if the one pictured on the 2nd page, which is just marked 'M4 Carbine', is the same generation as the guns that I've seen marked 'LE6920'. That is, did one come first in the time line or is Colt currently using both roll marks. I thought those guns marked 'LE6920' above the serial number were the most current stamping, and was just seeking clarification out of curiosity.
__________________ Avoid the temptation to replace everything on your brand-new 1911 just to make it 'better'. Know what you're changing out and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1970 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value. Not mine but this is the original roll markings of the LE6920 which started around 1994 until now 'COLTS LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE CAL. 5.56MM' with LE serial number prefix.
The right side magwell of these original LE6920 and LE Series carbines have the restricted markings 'RESTRICTED MILITARY/ GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT/ EXPORT USE ONLY'. Just for the year 2011 only the original LE6920 was replaced with the SP Series, marked 'SPORTER M4 CARBINE', no caliber markings and no restricted markings on the right side magwell. Starting this year the Sporter SP6920 carbines was replaced with the new 'M4 CARBINE CAL. 5.56MM' markings, no LE restricted markings on the right side magwell. They could have either the LE or SP serial number prefix and have either Colt Defense or Colts Mfg. Markings on top of the hammer and trigger pins (left side of the receiver).
The model numbers LE6920, SP6920, etc. Are not marked on the lower receivers, or anywhere on the carbine, they are marked on the box and paperwork only.
There are still new limited run original markings of Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine but they don't have the LE restricted marks on the right magwell. Where have you seen Colts that are physically marked 'LE6920'? That's a SKU that's normally found only on the box. You know, maybe I've flashed my butt here. I'm going to have to recheck that.
